Gena lore has it that young girls, not unlike caterpillars, come to camp and blossom into butterflies eager to explore new surrondings and learning independence. This is represented by the Gena symbol....the Butterfly.

There are approximately 6-8 campers in a cabin as well as one counselor per cabin. There may also be a C.I.T. (counselor-in-training) in the cabin as well. The counselor will take the C.I.T. under her wing and teach her all the fundamentals of being a great counselor.

Gena campers participate in a wide variety of activities during their stay at camp. They may visit such local sights such as "Eagles Nest", "The Big Tree" or "The Covered Bridge" as well as overnight campouts.

Not only do they have fun playing games, singing songs, having talent shows, as well as all the other activities offered at Camp, they learn to interact with each other and work together. At the end of their stay at camp, each Gena camper is awarded a leather "Gena Butterfly" that symbolizes all that they have accomplished during their camping experience.

The Gena village offers a nuturing experience for first-time campers. The Gena staff is very well aware of the concerns of this age group and is ready and willing to offer your daughter(s) the best camping experience ever!
